TOY STORY 3 ON ICE in Kansas City!!

What a fun and busy weekend we had. 4 hour drive to Kansas City, kids were really good in the car. Thank you DVD player. They watched 2 movies on the way down which gave the adults plenty of chatting time. We got to Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark and Resort around 1 pm. Checked in and our room was ready. YEAY!!!! Up we went. The room was awesome, it had a fireplace in the main room with a little "cub den" for the boys. A bunk bed with pictures of wild life in the room, they enjoyed this!!! Here is a picture of Baba and Gunnar enjoying the top bunk!!!

So we headed off to the water park. Hunter is now tall enough he can ride all the rides!! Woo Hoo!! Gunnar was tall enough to ride all but one. The only one he wanted to go on. Oh well once he saw how many to choose from he didn't care anymore. Off he went and I think it took all three of us to chase after him because the little guy didn't sit still at all. We all 3 took turns taking Hunter down the adult slides. They were really fun! The triple twist was his favorite.

After water park fun it was time to get something to eat. We went to the T-rex cafe, where there were giant dinosaurs and you could build a dinosaur, there was a very scary (according to Gunnar) life like dinosaur that moved when we walked in the door. There was a 40 minute wait for a table at 4 in the afternoon......whatever. We moved on to the Backfire Grill and BBQ. Which was delicious and NO WAIT!! We really lucked out with this one!! Here is a pic outside the Trex. Hopefully we can go back to this someday it looked really really fun!!

We then headed on over to Toy Story 3 on Ice!! We got our souvenirs (a couple of Buzz light years spinning flashlights, a program and lemonade and cotton candy and then a Buzz ight year light up sword and then I was told to quit buying crap, ha ha) I so wanted a Jessie snow cone. Oh well. So we sat in our seats and they were SWEET to say the least. Front row right next to the ice! Here is a picture. Baba really out did herself this time. So the show was AWESOME as well. I think Chris had the biggest smile I have ever seen on that man's face the whole entire time!! The boys loved it too. Because we were front row they got to pet Hamm (see pic up top) and high five the army guys (see pics). We all just loved it and were right next to all of the action.

My favorite part were the little aliens when they came out. The lights got all funky colored and they danced around. Don't know if you can tell from the picture!! Anyways the boys including Chris raved on and on about how great it was. The next morning the boys wanted to go see it again!! Too funny.Instead the boys and Baba went to the water park for so more wet fun!! Chris and I headed across the street to Cabella's where we loaded up on some Easter and birthday gifts for the boys. Chris loaded up on fishing supplies so he can take Hunter out on the boat this year and they can bond or whatever it is that boys do when they fish!!

Needless to say when we left the Lodge everyone was tired! We all slept on the way home minus Chris, he was driving :) Hope everyone is doing well. Our next adventures are the Iowa Horse Fair and Rodeo this weekend and organizing our transportation to and from Hunter's baseball practices!! Then we have three easter egg hunts, and pancake breakfast, VEISHA and of course Hunter and Daddy's birthdays!! April should be gone in no time!! Enjoy it!!

Bye bye Teeth!!

So Hunter lost his first top tooth this past weekend!! He lost his two bottom front ones in the fall on a trail ride. He pulled one out on the way to the trail ride and must have gottem bored that night waiting for the tooth fairy because while he was trying to fall asleep he pulled the other one out! Regardless, the tooth fairy found our trailer at Stephen's forest and left him $2 for each tooth. I thought this was serious inflation since I only got 50 cents per tooth. But after talking with coworkers and googling tooth fairies. Apparently we are under the national average!! We must find us a new tooth fairy!!! One that brings a gift AND a fair sum of money!! WOW.. So I will look into finding a tooth fairy that satisfies the monetary needs of a almost 6 year old. Anyways here are the pics of his first two missing teeth.

Next was his front one. I notice what looked like a gap in between his teeth saturday night on our way down to check out the river. We were just going to cruise down the hill and see what the boys were doing at the Tubing Hut (some guys from ames have built a bar type hut along the river at the big Eddy so when they tube they have a so called beach to stop at). Anyways they were down there with a fire camping and having fun so we thought we would stop in. I said to Hunter what is on your teeth, meaning food?? Nothing, it's just loose. He then continued to wiggle it until he had officially pulled it out and bled all over. Here is a the proud tooth puller below!!

So...tooth tally is 3 out so far!! How many left????

Madagascar Live!!!

Madagascar Live and the Spaghetti Works!! YEAH!!

I know I know, don't have a heart attack, I can't believe the blog is updated either. But I was getting some slack from a few people!

Anyways, my mom and I took the boys to see Madagascar Live at the Civic Center in Des Moines. We first stopped at Spaghetti Works on Court Ave to eat before the show. This place was one of my favorite spots as a kid!! I remember there being a fire truck salad bar when I was a kid?? Now there is an old antique car salad bar. Hunter and Gunnar didn't mind they filled up on applesauce (2 plate fulls each). Then came the spaghetti and meatballs in which Gunnar had a blast eating and mommy had fun taking pictures of his slurping!! Hunter was busy shoveling all the food in and didn't really have time to slurp. Here are a couple of pics from that.

Then off to Madagascar Live which was 2 blocks away. We raced down there, Hunter and Mommy winning, Gunnar coming in a close 3rd, and Baba in last place. She had on a winter coat so she wasn't as cold as us.

Once we got inside we bee-lined for the gift shop. Where, without checking first I told the boys they could each have 1 flashlight and 1 stuffed animal. Here is a few pictures of what they chose. 75 dollars later (LOL) Yep $75!! So we played around for a few minutes before heading into the show. They were pretty pumped with their new toys.

Inside we were give Lemur goggles to watch the show with. See photos for these awesome but somewhat freakish things! And the show was on!!

It was entertainment for everyone once the show started. Both boys had no expression on their faces for awhile just blindly staring and taking everything in! Once King Julian came on it was entertaining to watch Hunter dance in his seat! Ahhhh he didn't care who saw him he was just having fun. To be a child again...... Mom and I were very entertain by Hunter, as usual!! Here are some fun pics from the show!! Hope everyone enjoys!!

I hope everyone is doing well. Beware the Ides of March. Boys are on spring break with dad this week! Lots of outside time I'm sure!!!

This weekend we are going to visit Camp Hantesa to see where Hunter will spend his days this summer, swimming, archery, horse back riding, hiking and other fun things. I'm totally jealous. Again, can I be a kid again???

Next weekend to Kansas City for Toy Story 3 on Ice and Great Wolf Lodge. I will try to update the blog with this!
